There are loads of dog-friendly restaurants in Brighton, but it gets a little tricky when you try to find somewhere that does half decent food too. Luckily for you, this helpful guide includes a wide range of Brighton restaurants that are dog friendly. Unlike most Brighton dog-friendly restaurant lists that focus on outdoor terraces, this guide covers the best restaurants in Brighton where your dog can join you indoors.
Iβve personally checked with every restaurant listed to be sure that dogs are welcome, but keep in mind that policies may change! So, itβs always a good idea to call ahead if you can. I always advise booking ahead anyway, things just go more smoothly when you do.
Know another dog friendly restaurant in Brighton that isn’t mentioned here? Just get in touch and I’ll consider adding them to the list. Enjoy!
Apiary
Apiary is a honey themed cocktail bar in Brighton, owned by Alistair and Noemi Bell. They opened the business in 2023 and have been focusing on creating a honey inspired menu that features honey, honeycomb, and beeswax in both their food and drinks. The restaurant offers a surprisingly delightful food menu curated by a former chef from Flint House. Apiary has to be one of my favourite dog friendly places to eat in Brighton.
Their breakfasts are served from Friday to Sunday, and feature a range of gourmet sourdough toast options with locally sourced ingredients, such as smoked salmon, wild mushrooms, and peach & ricotta. For a more savoury option, try the breakfast kebab with smoked sausage, fried egg, and house pickles. Alongside their delicious food, Apiary also serves locally roasted Skylark coffee and a selection of pastries or granola.

Carlito Burrito
Carlito Burrito are the perfect place to fill that burrito shaped hole in your belly, and you can bring your dog along too! Founded by Mexico born Carlito Riestra in 2012, the food here is authentic and full of flavour. Despite the name, they offer more than just burritos too, with a variety of street food that is great for sharing, like tacos, tostadas, quesadillas and more! Carlito’s also have some pretty solid vegan options. But be warned… the cocktails are outrageously good, so you may find yourself enjoying a few of those as well.

Embers is a standout dog friendly restaurant in Brighton, known for wood-fired cooking over ash and beech, giving every dish a unique smoky flavour. Owners Mike and Phil Kemp, along with head chef Dave Marrow, have crafted a special dining experience thatβs worth the splurge. Considering the cooking style, there are actually quite a lot of vegan options! They also offer a delicious Sunday roast, including a veggie option. Plus, itβs dog-friendly, so you can enjoy a great meal with your pooch. Fatto a Mano Hove (The one on Church Road)
Fatto a Mano is a must-try for some of the tastiest Neapolitan pizzas in Brighton and Hove. While they have several locations around the city and have recently expanded to London, it’s the Hove restaurant that allows dogs inside (ground floor), though all locations in Brighton welcome dogs on their outdoor terraces. Fatto is just perfect for a family meal or a night out with mates, they are slinging out top quality pizzas with both classic and more creative toppings all day long – alongside a respectable selection of wines. For me, itβs a tough call between Fatto and VIP for the best pizza in Brighton – looks like youβll just have to try both!

Garden Cafe
Garden Cafe is a fun, plant-filled cafe in North Laine, offering a delicious breakfast menu with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. It’s actually one of my favourite breakfast spots in Brighton and it just so happens to be dog-friendly too. The food is fresh, and is nicely decorated with edible flowers. The rooms are filled with hanging plant baskets which creates a really strong aesthetic inside, making this place the perfect backdrop for pics of you and your dog! Halisco
Halisco can be found on Preston Street and is a vibrant Mexican restaurant owned by best friends Ismaeel Razavi and Alex Anastasiades. Whilst it may be run by two Brighton lads, Halisco does deliver an authentic Mexican experience, and thatβs thanks to Ismaeelβs five year stint in Mexico. This is combined with his cooking background that he developed at The Grand Hotel, Brighton. Recently Halisco was awarded “Best Cheap Eats in Brighton 2024” by BRAVO, this restaurant offers great value with a menu filled with flavourful tacos and small plates using fresh, seasonal ingredients. With a welcoming, puppy friendly atmosphere and tasty margaritas, Halisco’s is a lovely choice for a quality meal!

Kusaki is a plant-based, Japanese restaurant, where you can enjoy beautifully presented sushi platters to hearty ramen bowls and innovative alternatives like vegan “fish and chips” and “chicken katsu.” The restaurant boasts a modern, stylish decor thanks to the wok of Fabio Lauro – which makes it one of the more instagrammable dog friendly places to eat in Brighton. The interior gives focus to their commitment to sustainability, as it uses eco-friendly materials. The food is also made with locally sourced ingredients.
Kusaki also has a fantastic drink selection, including unique cocktails and a nicely curated wine list. To top it off, they have a dog-friendly policy which makes Kusaki one of the most unique dog-friendly restaurants in Brighton, if you ask me! Make sure you check this place out.

LOST in the Lanes
Owned by Natalie Demetriou is a charming cafe in the heart of The Lanes, highly regarded for their modern British menu. The head chef Sophie Taverner has put together a superb menu, giving a modern British take on classic cafe favourites. Here you can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and a great selection of dishes perfect for a casual brunch or lunch. Dog friendly tables are at the front of the restaurant. At the weekends it can get pretty busy so it may be worth booking, in which case itβs advised to plonk a note such as βdog friendly tableβ when making your reservation, but in the week you can just walk in with your mutt!

med.
med. is a local favourite in Brighton’s food scene, serving up Mediterranean fusion dishes that are crafted from fresh, local ingredients. Co-owners and chefs Will Dennard and Jack Southan, known for their creative work with Wolfsmouth and Paradiso Social, bring their unique flair to Med., merging their talents to deliver a playful twist on modern European sharing plates in a relaxed dining atmosphere.
While med. welcomes dogs, its intimate size might not be ideal for larger dogs on busy nights like Fridays and Saturdays. Smaller dogs that can comfortably sit under the table, however, are always welcome. The restaurant also features an extensive wine list with over 60 bottles, including natural and low-intervention wines, offering plenty of by-the-glass options. Moshimo
Located in The Lanes, Moshimo is a fantastic choice for Japanese cuisine and sushi. Established in 2000 by Karl Jones and Peter Joannou, theyβre a true staple of the Brighton food scene and for good reason. Highly praised for their innovative vegan sushi menu, but also their approach to sustainability (actively engaged in the prevention of βoverfishingβ). You simply wonβt be disappointed when eating here. You can sit by the conveyor belt for that tokyo vibe, or sit at your own table (and they have lots of them!).
Moshimo does a great job of looking after guests in style, whether they are plant-based or prefer the real deal. With a moderately priced menu, casual atmosphere and doggy loving vibe, itβs a win. Iβd recommend going for one of the sushi boats (available vegan too) so that you can try a variety. This is a great shout if you’re after a quality Brighton dog friendly restaurant.

VIP (Very Italian Pizza)
VIP is a real gem located near the seafront, just on the edge of Kemptown. It’s one of my personal favourites for authentic Neapolitan style pizza in Brighton. Owned by Maria and Marco Di Napoli, who also serves as head chef, VIP is all about quality. They use top notch ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and fresh basil, which all contribute to the rich taste of every pizza.
Whether you’re in the mood for a classic like the Margherita or something more adventurous like the Diavola or Quattro Stagioni, each pizza is lovingly cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven.
