After a Sunday roast but not up for facing the world outside? Whether you’re nursing a hangover, craving a hearty lunch, or just want to enjoy the comforts of home, this quick guide has got you sorted. Whilst there’s no matching the experience of enjoying a lunch at the pub, sometimes you just want to stay in! So here are some of the best places in Brighton that deliver a Sunday roast right to your door. Enjoy!
For delivery, it’s recommended to check the restaurants own website first to see if they have their own delivery option, before opting to use services such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat. But these links have also been included where available, for your convenience. This is to keep things local where possible.
Roasthost, Seven Dials – Delivery

Set-up by Glen Halsey and Mike Matthews, Roasthost was created specifically to deliver a hot yummy roast dinner to you on the weekend. All meals are made with free-range and organic ingredients and arrive in compostable or recyclable packaging. There are also vegan and gluten-free options available. (In short, they know how to please Britonians)
You can choose a “Complete Lunch”, which includes Chicken or Butternut Squash with roast potatoes and slaw.
Or you can pick the more substantial “Complete Dinner.” This dinner menu includes Chicken, Pork Belly, Gammon, Beef, or 2 plant-based options, Nut Roast or Butternut Squash. The dinners all come with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, greens, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. With loads of upgrade options available for extra meat, the menu is highly customisable!
Available on Deliveroo and UberEats, Roasthost would be my first suggestion for getting a decent roast dinner, delivered to you in the Brighton area.
The Black Lion – Delivery

The Black Lion offers a Sunday roast delivery through Just Eat, featuring options like pressed belly of pork, beef striploin, braised beef cheek, and thyme butter roasted chicken supreme. Each meal comes with thyme roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, honeyed root veg, buttered greens, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy.
Vegetarians can enjoy the goats cheese, portobello mushroom & red onion wellington, while vegans can opt for the beetroot, wild mushroom, and lentil wellington roast.
Add-ons include extra Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, and gravy, along with sauces like horseradish, cranberry, apple, mint, and mustard. A selection of wines, beers, and ciders is also available for delivery.
Having tried their roast several times, I’ve found the portions generous and good value. The vegetarian roast is particularly tasty, though the beef was slightly overdone once. The roast potatoes are decent but not outstanding, but the substantial Yorkshire puddings make up for it.
Overall, The Black Lion offers one of the better Sunday roasts in Brighton that can actually be delivered!
Mon Cafe, Hove – Delivery

From the outside, it may look a bit dark, but inside, it’s surprisingly airy with modern seating and a nice outdoor area. Mon Caf is a bit of a hidden gem, but locals are starting to notice their Sunday roasts!
Mon Caf is primarily French-Mediterranean, with dishes such as Poulet Breton and Beef Bourguignon and seafood. Which is why I was surprised to hear such positive rumours about the traditional Sunday Roast! After giving it a go, I was pleasantly surprised.
With options like Roast Beef, Lamb Shank, Chicken, and a vegetarian option (note, this is actually a veggie burger, but it works fairly well). Dishes come with trimmings, homemade Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. Plus, you can bring your own wine for just £3 corkage if you do choose to dine in.
I’d highly recommend that you try this Sunday roast, the food is tasty and cooked well. I’d actually suggest eating in, but it’s a bonus that this one can be delivered too!
Stonehouse – Controversial
Note: Mixed reviews, but included for hangover curing purposes
While Stonehouse has a mixed reputation, you can’t fault their convenience and reliability in delivering roasts. That’s why they’ve made this list. They offer a range of meats and a meat-free option, including vegetarian gravy. I’m not in the business of handing out neggy reviews. There’s an audience for this type of grub, and while it’s not the best I’ve ever had, it’s not the worst. Available on Deliveroo and Just Eat. Why not add a pizza, battered fish, or burger to your order while you’re at it!

Fox on the Downs

At the time of writing, Fox on the Downs are only listing drinks on Just Eat, but previously they have offered deliveries for roasts and so I wanted to give it a mention as it’s worth checking the menu items on Sundays. I wouldn’t want you to miss out as it’s delicious.
I went there previously and loved it, the veggies are spot on and the potatoes are crispy. The portion is also good and there is plenty of meat. The food has real flavour and tastes fresh, so I’d suggest you check it out. They also pour a proper Guinness, if you do choose to dine in.

La Piazza – Collection

While La Piazza is known for their classic Italian dishes, don’t let that fool you – they also serve up a fantastic roast dinner. In fact, many residents declare it to be the best in Brighton.
The menu features roast lamb shoulder, traditional nut roast, chicken, pork belly, and a mixed roast (though the offerings vary, so it’s best to inquire). Each roast comes with all the trimmings, and the Yorkshire puddings are perfectly fluffy.
They’ve offered up ‘roast wraps’ in the past, which are quite frankly, fabulous. Ask about these when you call, and they might be able to sort you out!
I’d suggest giving them a call to place your order, or you can email them. While this isn’t as convenient as using Deliveroo, it’s definitely worth the effort. Locals agree, with one saying, “La Piazza is de nuts” – jackels91 on Reddit.

Busby & Wilds, Kemptown – Collection

I’ve been in touch with Busby & Wilds and they’ve confirmed that they do offer Sunday roast dinners for collection, but not for delivery. However, it’s worth noting that they do offer delivery for other dishes throughout the week.
Generally speaking I have found the quality of food to be pretty tasty here. Last time I tried the lamb roast and found the Yorkshire pudding impressive and tasty. The plating was a bit unusual (though this isn’t an issue with delivery), where the meat and potatoes were served together in gravy, but the vegetables were in a separate dish. Maybe this is traditional? But it was new to me!
It should be noted that the gravy is quite thin, so if you’re like me and prefer a thick gravy, you might want to check elsewhere first! But otherwise, this roast will definitely get the job done just fine.
